Pitbull Debuts At #50 During Slow Sales Week

Pitbull's new album "The Boatlift" debuted at #50 on the Billboard charts during a slow sales week.

According to Billboard.com and Nielsen SoundScan, Pitbull's new album sold 22,000 copies during its first week in stores.

Jay-Z is currently the only Hip-Hop artist in the top 20 with his new album "American Gangster" selling 51,979 copies this week to come in at #17.

Alicia Keys new album "As I Am" held strong selling 257,000 copies and coming in at the #3 position.

The week's #1 album was from Josh Groban whose Christmas album "Noel" sold 539,000 copies up 33% from the previous week.

Sales this week (12.26 million units) are down 16.9% from the same week last year (14.75 million). This week's sum is down 12.1% from last week's.
