Entourages for rappers Jim Jones and Cassidy reportedly were involved in an altercation in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday (December 18), during the grand opening for the HipHopSodaShop.
According to a report from AllHipHop.com, entourages from Jones and his Dipset brother Juelz Santana clashed with Cassidy's group during the grand opening reception for the event.
The groups of men ran into each other when Jones and Santana's group left the club's VIP as Cassidy's were arriving.
After leaving the site reports that members of Jones' entourage returned, and then became involved in a verbal altercation with one of Cassidy's security guards.
Jones' men left, then returned with Jones, who then exchanged words with the security guard, before an unidentified assailant struck him with champagne bottle and knocked him unconscious.
"They were staring at Cassidy like they wanted to tear the fur off of his ass," an eyewitness told AllHipHop.com.
Details following the incident are unclear -- as far as if the injured man was treated or if anyone was arrested.
But despite the interruption, the event commenced, with Dr. Ben Chavis, CEO of H3 Enterprises, the parent company of the HipHopSodaShop franchises, enjoying a capacity crowd at their newly opened store.
The night's festivities included performances by Doug E. Fresh and Busta Rhymes, and attracted celebs such as Gucci Mane and Tango from of VH1's "I Love New York."
