Snoop Dogg

Although the country permanently banned him from entering its borders, following a brawl at London's Heathrow Airport in April 2006, Snoop Dogg says he now has the green light to travel into the country again. Snoop told Larry King during an interview on Friday (February 1) that the ban was lifted after he wrote the British government in hopes of getting the ruling overturned, claiming his was "wrongfully accused." "I was wrongfully accused, and now I've been accepted back in. The judge overturned it. He looked at the evidence and looked at what I've been doing, just checked my character out and found me to be innocent, and now I'm able to go back out there. So, everybody in the U.K., big Snoop Dogg will be back to come give you all what you want," Snoop said. Despite the rapper's claims, British authorities have yet to confirm his comments. ...

Reggaeton rapper, Pitbull, appeared on Big Boy's Los Angeles radio show on Power 106 Monday morning (February 4) where he told his fans to not buy his album, and instead "download" or "burn it." According to the rapper, he's had it with his long time label, TVT Records, who he say failed to promote his latest album Boatlift correctly. "They didn't promote Lil Jon. They didn't promote Ying Yang," he said, further explaining that he's gone "go out of pocket" for his own promotion. Pitbull said that he will not release his next album through TVT and said he and other rappers should beef with labels and not each other. "We don't need rappers to go at each other. We got to go at these companies. That's what I'm doing." ...

Miami rapper, Trina, has been sporting a new slim look, as she gears up for the release of a new album. So, how did she shed the extra pounds, she resorted to an all-liquid diet, which she substituted for her meals. "Every time you're hungry, you gotta drink the liquid. It's pretty strenuous, but you really have to stick it out," she said. Known for being "thick," the 30-year-old rap diva trimmed her waistline in preparation for her comeback album, Still Da Baddest, but she insists she isn't going for the super-skinny look. "I'm not trying to be runway-model thin," Trina explains. "I'm from the South, so I gotta keep the curves and the assets." ...

R. Kelly is being sued by a Nevada concert promoter who says the R&B singer failed to show up for a performance in Minneapolis for which he was paid $120,000, according to TMZ.com. Kelly reportedly missed the gig, so that he could appear in a Chicago court for a hearing. A suit filed in Atlanta District Court this week by Royalty Records reportedly claims Kelly agreed to perform December 6 with Ne-Yo and Keyshia Cole, but then rescheduled the show for December 20, the day he was set to appear in court. The promoters are seeking the return of the payment, TMZ.com says. ...

Despite reports that Amy Winehouse would be appearing at the Grammy's on Sunday (February 10) in Los Angeles, the singer's publicist told MTV News a decision hasn't been made either way. Her rep also said that the singer hasn't left rehab yet, although she did depart the Capio Nightingale clinic, where she's been staying the last few weeks, to make a pre-scheduled meeting at the United States Embassy. According to her rep, the meeting was arranged so that the singer could discuss renewing her visa. ... Last week on Wednesday (January 30), Winehouse spent the night in a hospital ward after being rushed there from a rehab facility to be treated for dehydration. BBC News reports that the singer was put on an IV drip to rehydrate her after a bout of vomiting connected to her treatment for drug addiction. Her father, Mitch, said "everything is going according to plan, and she's perfectly OK," confirming that she has since been moved back to the rehab facility.
