MTV news is reporting that Beck may be about to take a leaf out of the Raconteurs playbook and releasing his new album shortly.

The new album which will be Beck's eighth studio release is said to be due out in the next few weeks and is apparently being produced by Danger Mouse.

The leak from the Beck camp also indicates that there will be a few guest appearances from artists including one from Cat Power.

Whilst the story has not been officially confirmed it's likely that if it's correct an announcement will be forthcoming in the very near future.
