Paul McCartney and Heather Mills' contentious divorce battle is finally drawing to a close.
In a hearing Monday morning, a London judge granted a preliminary decree of divorce to the couple, the AP reports.
Justice Hugh Bennett says the divorce could be finalized in six weeks.
Mills, 40, was awarded approximately $47.5 million in a March settlement. This includes a lump sum of about $30 million, in addition to over $15 million in assets she currently holds.
Daughter Beatrice, 4, will receive $70,000 per year. McCartney will pay for her nanny and school fees.
Mills, who married McCartney in 2002, said she was "so, so happy" with the settlement in March.
According to initial reports, Mills was seeking up to $100 million of the former Beatle's estate, which is estimated at as high as $1.6 billion.
