Actor George Takei has announced that he and longtime love Brad Altman plan to get married. Takei, 71, said he and Altman are “overjoyed” that California lifted their ban on same sex marriages, enabling them to tie the knot.WAIT... THERE'S MORE STUFF
“Our California dream is reality. Brad Altman and I can now marry,” the 71-year-old wrote in his official blog. “We are overjoyed! At long last, the barrier to full marriage rights for same-sex couples has been torn down. We are equal with all citizens of our state!”
The Star Trek star has been with Altman for over 21 years. “He is my love and I can’t imagine life without him. Now, we can have dignity, as well as all the responsibilities, of marriage. We embrace it all heartily,” he added.
A wedding date has not been set.
