The bloggers over at SOHH.com first let the rumors out about Trick Daddy leaving his longtime home at Slip-N-Slide Records, and now, they've got the official word... and it looks like it's true.

Slip-N-Slide CEO, Ted Lucas, let the cat out the bag in a recent interview with the site, and after nearly 15 years, Trick is close to leaving.

Although the rumors are true, the rapper is currently signed, but is on his way out, said the music executive.

"As of Wednesday (October 3), he is still signed to Slip-N-Slide," Lucas told SOHH.com. "He has asked to be released from the label. We are in the process of making that decision; most likely Trick will no longer be on Slip-N-Slide going forward."

According to Lucas, Trick Daddy's sudden change of heart stems from his relationship with their parent label, Atlantic Records, who Trick feels didn't handle his last album correctly.

"He wasn't happy with how his last project went with Atlantic Records and that caused a little problem between me and him, because he felt I should have did some things that would have prevented the way it went out with Atlantic," Lucas explained. "His last album didn't do as well as previous albums did, but I think Trick Daddy still has a great future."

Despite the rapper wanting to leave, Lucas says it's hard to do, because of their close relationship, which dates back before Trick Daddy was a platinum rapper.

"It ain't something easy," he explained. "Trick Daddy is not just an artist, that's my brother.

"... Sometimes men grow up and have to go their separate ways. If that's the decision that's made, I understand that and regardless of the decision that is made, I'm going to support him," Lucas continued.

There is good news aside from the Trick troubles though. Slip-N-Slide is gearing up for the release of Rick Ross' follow-up to his platinum debut, Port Of Miami. The new album, titled Trilla, is slated for December 18.

Additionally, Trina is also in the works and plans to drop her next album February of 2008.
