Los Angeles (E! Online) - When it comes to community service, Snoop Dog is going to rake it like it's hot.
See Also:To fulfill his 160 hours of community service for an illegal-weapons rap, the hip-hopster will take to the public parks of Orange County, California, doing "everything from raking leaves to painting benches," his attorney, Donald Etra, told the Orange County Register. "He will do whatever it takes." Last month, Snoop pleaded guilty to a felony count of possession of a dangerous weapon, for walking through security at John Wayne Airport with a collapsible baton in September 2006. He was sentenced to three years' informal probation and the community service and told to make a charitable contribution in the amount of $10,000, according to the O.C. District Attorney's Office. At a hearing this week, Deputy District Attorney Andre Manssourian nixed any community service plans that would place the Doggfather in close contact with youth, gangs or football, "because the spirit of the community service offer is for him to do the work in a manner in which he isn't glorified in the eyes of children." But Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was given the all clear on the park-cleaning commission, an assignment he chose from a list of options, and the plan was signed off on by Superior Court Judge Erick L. Larsh on Wednesday. "I look forward to having his hours of community service help maintain Orange County and keep it beautiful," Manssourian told the Register. Looks like it will be a busy fall for Snoop Dog. Along with keeping Orange County beautiful, he will work on his ninth studio album, Ego Trippin', as well as an upcoming E! reality show that will track his exploits as rapper, entrepreneur and family man.
