I came across this....

pretty FANTASTIC IDEA if you ask me:

Here is a PLAN to embrace for every American from an American. To bad
our elected officials are not creative thinkers like this guy.

The Birk Economic Recovery Plan

Hi Pals,

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

• Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
• Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
• Put away money for college - it'll be there
• Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
• Buy a new Car – creating jobs
• Invest in the market - capital drives growth
• Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
• Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company
that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed
Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of
trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is
being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out
every adult U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work." But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because
$25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest. < BR
Kindest personal regards,

T. J. Birkenmeier, A Creative Guy & Citizen of

the Republic

85 Billion / 200 Million = $425

FAIL

math aside, that thing needs a few modifications here and there to be more realistic...

i don't like the fact of simply giving out all that money. too many irresponsible pricks out there who could possibly screw things up even more. i'd favor it more if we had these people spend and get reimbursed for their receipts (minus taxes) so we at least have an idea at what things are being spent on. no point giving a guy a few hundred grand if he's gonna spend it on drugs.

screw letting "everyone 18 and over" get the chance to take part. criminal offenders and illegals should be ineligible. limit the people who receive the money to those who are registered voters...sure there a plenty of illegals who do vote (thank u stolen SS#'s) but this at least will limit that, and repeat offenders can't vote anyway.

also, anyone already on government assistance who WANTS to take part in the plan will receive the money, but at the same time must relinquish their assistance...they wanna stay on a federal aid program, that's fine, but they receive no money.

a cheaper alternative would also be to have the government simply pay for college for every one that wants to do so. families will be able to send their kids off to school without worrying whether or not they can afford it, allowing them to use the money for other purposes, stimulating the economy, while these youngin's get educated.

this bailout is pointless, all it is is delaying the inevitable. we're simply getting them out of trouble for NOW just so they can make the same mistake over again...they'll still continue to handout loans to people they KNOW won't be able to pay that shit off and the people that were the cause of the problem initially will have even worse credit. have the government regulate them, but for shit's sake, don't let americans who weren't stupid enough to play the game pay for their mistake (yes this is borderline socialism, but for i'm starting to think it's come down to that).

you don't have to be an active voter, but just be registered. come on, now...registering to vote takes all but a few minutes of your time. a lot less time then paying taxes.

and why on earth don't you vote? don't tell me it's just cus of jury duty, there are plenty of ways to weasel out of that shit. vote up, man.
