Label : Aftermath (2006)

1. Get You Some-With Q-Tip & Marsha Ambrosius [Producer: Dr. Dre] (3)
The beat is insane. I doesn't sound like a typical Dre beat (but then again it might not be as this tracklist could veru easily be fake). It doesn' really catch my attention but it suspect it might grow on me after a while.
Hook = Horrible

2.Touch It [Producer: Swizz Beatz] (2)
Never liked this track, probably never will.

3.This Is How We Do It Over Here (w/Missy Elliott) [Producer: Dr. Dre] (2)
Doesn't sound like a Dre track either and I mean that in the worst way possible. It's FUCKING WEAK!!

4.New York Shit (w/Swizz Beatz) [Producer: DJ Scratch] (3,5)
Finally somnething that doesn't sound like a weak southern club track. You can always count on DJ Scratch!

5.Been Thru The Storm (3)
What's with all the slowed down/mellow tracks? I want Busta to shout his ass off....

6.In The Ghetto (w/Rick James) [Producer: Green Lantern] (4)
Unfortunately this is really catchy. It's unfortunate because it's also corny as fuck. Regardless of that I'll rock this on a daily basis for the next month or so...

7.Cocaine aka Don't Try To Fight It (w/Mariah Carey) [Producer: Rick Rock] (0)
This however will get no play at all. I've heard this beat flipped so often I'm surprised anyone still has the nerve to put it on anything but a mixtape. Everything about this track screams "leftover from that last wack ass LL Cool J album".

8.You Can't Hold The Torch-With Q-Tip [Producer: J. Dilla] (3,5)
Finally a Dilla track (no Busta album is complete without it). A shame it's not one of his best. It's still one of the best tracks on the album though.

9.Money Like Back In The Days-With Raekwon [Producer: Erick Sermon] (3)
So Busta executive produced "Cuban Linx 2"?? This track is decent but this makes me a bit uneasy about Rae's next album. Hopefully Bus put all the dope beats aside for The Chef...

10.I Love My Bitch (W/Kelis & Will.I.Am) [Producer: Will.I.Am] (2)
A wack Will.I.Am track? Surprised? Nah, me neither... This track has been done so many times and rarerly worse than this.

11.Don't Get Carried Away-With Nas [Producer: Dr. Dre] (3)
Nasir Jones & Andre Young back together! Too bad it's another weak Dre beat...It sounds very much like a leftover track from The Massacre. Nas does to Bus what Em did to Jigga on The Blueprint.

12.They Out To Get Me (w/Denaun Porter) [Producer: Denaun Porter] (3,5)
Nice beat, I wasn't expecting Denaun to deliver one of the best tracks on this album considering the production line-up. This bangs a little though

13.Get Down [Producer: Timbaland] (1)
Boring, boring, boring. Why get a timbo beat when it sounds like some kids from a Soundclick page biting "Grindin"?

14.I'll Do It All (2)
Naaah...

15.Your Time Has Come [Producer: Dr. Dre] (2)
Remember how people always accused Dre of stealing credit from guys like Yella, Cold 187um, Daz and Mel-Man? If that was anywhere near true I'm sad to say that Dre found some wack dude to steal from.

16.New York Shit Remix feat KRS-1 [Producer: Marley Marl] (3,5)
Nice funky beat, a nice way to close the album. I guess i should start getting hyped about that KRS1/Marley Marl collabo album then.

Overall : 2/5

Imagine the best possible thing that could happen by Busta signeng to Aftermath and then reverse it. I don't know if Dre executive produced this but I sure hope not because this is without a doubt the worst album the good doctor has ever been involved with (except perhaps the Jimmy Z album...). It sounds like it was recorded 4 years ago and just slightly adjusted for a 2006 release. It's filled with throwaway beats, overused concepts, cheesy hooks and forgettable lyrics.

:o What!!!?? the bassline on that Jdilla beat is Mean! I loved it ever since I heard madlib rock to it, but on a side note marlon killed this beat better than bus & tip..who sounds kinda strange, maybe I just havn't listen to his recent shit that much but it's still good to hear him & bus together. The hook on "Get You Some" is fresh.

1. Get You Some-(w/Q-Tip & Marsha Of Floetry)[Producer: Dr. Dre] (3.5)

2.Touch It [Producer: Swizz Beatz] (3)

3.This Is How We Do It Over Here (w/Missy Elliott) [Producer: Dr. Dre] (2)

4.New York Shit (w/Swizz Beatz) [Producer: DJ Scratch] (5)

5.Been Thru The Storm (3)

6.In The Ghetto (w/Rick James) [Producer: Green Lantern] (4)

7.Cocaine aka Don't Try To Fight It (w/Marsha Of Floetry) [Producer: Rick Rock] (3)

8.You Can't Hold The Torch-(w/Q-Tip & Chauncey Black)[Producer: J. Dilla] (3.5)

9.Money Like Back In The Days-With Raekwon [Producer: Erick Sermon] (4)

10.I Love My Bitch (W/Kelis & Will.I.Am) [Producer: Will.I.Am] (3)

11.Don't Get Carried Away-With Nas [Producer: Dr. Dre] (3)

12.They Out To Get Me (w/Denaun Porter) [Producer: Denaun Porter] (3.5)

13.Get Down [Producer: Timbaland] (1)

14.I'll Do It All(w/Latoya Jackson) (2)

15.Legend of The Fall Offs/After You Die [Producer: Dr. Dre] (4)

Overall: 3.5/5
I Actually Like this album. I remember the crazy busta, but he moved pass that stage & I can accept that. This is trunk shit, the rick james track is fresh & isnt corny at all in my opinion. only track I really didn't like was the Timbo track simply cause it's just a drum track..U can't have 2 of those one album imo. Overall this is nice & I understand that every album in the mainstream has to have singles such as "I love my bitch/chick & Touch it) & like it or not Busta is gonna bring some attention back to New York & made a hit without using another regions sound.

I can't. Because you know what's next? MOP is making whisper songs or songs you can chill out to. And THAT is not cool.

Well, haven't heard too many of these tracks, but that Get You Some is boring imo as is Touch It. Money Like Back In The Days is hot though, and that New York Shit remix by Marley Marl is insane! The original is pretty good as well but the beat sounds familiar?

no what's not cool is placing talent in a box and never letting shit evolve....not everything can stay the same, and things change for good or bad...just a fact

the stevie joint is dope, and the dilla-produced banger is my shit right now...i love that fuckin beat. q tip's voice i can do witout, but the message is well received and i love the song. this album is one of my favs of this year, but that could be because i havent heard much that i really dug this year honestly. i also havent listened to a lot of albums this year.

I'd like to se Busta change if he tried something new. He's always been innovative imo

now he's just doing stuff that other people have been doing for years (and doing better than him)
