Starts on Saturday. What's your predictions? Who's gonna finish top? Who's going down?

Opening weekend fixtures..
Saturday
Aston Villa v Liverpool , 17:15
Bolton v Newcastle , 15:00
Derby v Portsmouth , 15:00
Everton v Wigan , 15:00
Middlesbrough v Blackburn , 15:00
Sunderland v Tottenham , 12:45
West Ham v Man City , 15:00
Sunday
Arsenal v Fulham , 12:00
Chelsea v Birmingham , 13:30
Man Utd v Reading , 16:00

My top four finish .. same four teams as expected..
1. Man United
2. Liverpool
3. Chelsea
4. Arsenal
Uefa Cup places....
5. Everton
6. Spurs
7. Portsmouth or Sunderland

Sunderland are gonna have a good season, especially with Roy Keane managing them. Reading won't do as well as they did last season, bottom half finish for them. Man City will do shit with Sven and will have a joke of a season.

Relegation..
18. Fulham
19. Wigan
20. Derby

..and finally all season the papers will be full of the news that Jose "The Special One" will be on the verge of walking out on Chelsea, which he won't.

I think Chelsea will finish this season top, since teams are more up for beating the champions.. And I've always thought Chelsea are better at grinding out results on bad days than United...

I'm not sure about our new signings, but then again, we really didn't need any strengthening, we just needed to find roles for all our talented players, which will still be a problem.. We have 3 worldclass wingers, and Wright-Phillips, who is still yet to gain match experience... Unless Robben leaves, which I hope he doesn't.. Though him leaving would make the selection process alot easier. It seems we have quite a long list of players with minor injuries, which hopefully they can shake off before the start of the season...

Arsenal will do well to finish 4th, I think..

Well United made a stunning start... as did Spurs. Jol is now favourite for the sack race. If Levy fires him, I will be fucking furious. I will be equally furious if we fail to sign a left winger/creative midfielder before August 31st. We also need Curtis Davies with King, Kaboul, Bale, Lee, Dawse all out, but fuck the £10m. We will struggle for a while with all these injuries.

To go down... tough. Derby, Wigan and Boro i think. Sunderland and Pompey will underperform I think.

Everton and newcastle could do well but to be honest its all so much of a muchness between teams like them, City, West Ham blah blah blah. I can see it being pretty tight, and to be honest, pretty boring this season.

Trick, what do you think of the last 7-10 days at Spurs? Frankly I think its an embarrassment for the club, and now Berbs' agent has said Levy is considering an offer from Man Utd? Fuck sake... whats going on.

I can see Spurs fucking up royally this year. 5 of our next 7 games away, at places like Man Utd, Anfield, the Reebok, and one of those home games is fucking Arsenal. 10 games in, we might be about 14th in the table, seriously. So many injuries its untrue.

I feel sorry for Jol. The defence he fields on sunday will get torn apart by United... Gardner and Rocha? Havin a fucking laugh.

I think we may need to take a step back this season and let the team gel, but i reckon it'll cost MJ his job.

I'll take a wee peice of humble pie then... gardner & Rocha were immense today. United had no answer.

Marklar you are a very very lucky boy. Webb is an arsehole of epic proportions, on another day we'd have won 1 or 2 nil up there. Top performance today. I'm proud in defeat.

I can't believe how angry I was after that. I'm still lost for words... I'll never know how we didn't win 6-1.

I think Jol's gone. I don't want him to in principle, but I now think its best he goes, cause its fucking obvious the wanky board are gonna sack him some time this season anyway, unless something dramatic happens. Our last 2 games have shown he's gonna have no luck this season.

Fuck it, this season we should focus on the cups, the leagues almost a write off for me already... seriously.

Edit- United were hardly on fire, Martin

Although I'd like Utd and Chelsea to lure Liverpool into thinking they could win the title and then smack them down about March.

Spurs should have definitely won that.. Chelsea deserved to lose for not taking their chances and frailties at the back, once again.. when Belletti and Alex 'bed-in' I think those 2 combined with Ashley Cole and Terry will be pretty much undefeatable.

Terry said it best when he was quoted saying that Chelsea are yet to play their best.. or even close to that.. Just need to tighten up at the back and start finishing our chances and the title will be ours. Wright Phillips has made a great start to the season, and long may it continue, he's waited patiently for his chance.

Younes Kaboul..... legend in the making.

That said, as a CB, it doesn't reflect well that I'd probably rather have Derby's back five right now. We cannot get organised at the back to save our lives, we're not reading each others game, and Robbo needs to lay off the breakfast bar and spend more time on the pitch at training; must be dropped.

Jol's on wafer thin ice. Liverpool away next!

We made it, but I hate our style of play and manager tactics almost as much as McLaren's.

Did Belarus turn you over in the end? It was 2-0 last time a checked before I went out.

The England job is sitting on a silver plate, ready for Mourinho to tuck in now... either that or the FA will fuck up and do something stupid like giving the job to Alan Shearer.

We lost 2-1 to Belarus. You must like the fact that Hleb got injured.

Obviously I will support Holland this summer, but I hate we are one of the 4 teams in pot 1 at the draw. So we're up for a very difficult group.

pot 1
Austria
Switserland
Greece
Holland

pot 2
Italy
Croatia
Sweden
Czech Republic

pot 3
Germany
Spain
Portugal
Romania

pot 4
France
Russia
Poland
Turkey

Top clubs consider overseas games

The English Premier League is considering the idea of staging some matches around the rest of the world .. read on here...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 232390.stm

your thoughts on this??

I can only think why? I'm not into the idea, it's constantly more and more about the money.. exactly why I've totally lost all interest in the Premier League, thank god for Preston North End and their entertaining relegation struggle!!
